MYL celebrates its 31st foundation day

A seminar was held on November 30, 2019, on the subject of 'Life is but a friendship with the book' under the banner of Minhaj Youth League in Islamabad on its 31st foundation day. Secretary General MQI Khurram Nawaz Gandapur was the guest of honour on the occasion. Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri and President MQI Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri also addressed the seminar through a video link.

MYL President Mazhar Mahmood Alvi and former presidents of the youths' body appreciated the services of the youth for the cause of Pakistan and Islam. In his keynote address, Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said MYL played an important role in reviving the book friendly culture. He said friendship with the book is actually friendship with knowledge. He said history bears witness to the fact that Muslims remained ascendant as long as they were flag bearer in knowledge and had a strong connection with the books. He said knowledge the basis on which the edifice of their power was raised. He stated it categorically that their decline was caused when they broke with knowledge and books.

Shaykh-ul-Islam further said the word 'book' is not only the subject but also the message of the Holy Quran. He said Allah Almighty says that there is no space for any doubt regarding this Book i.e. the Holy Quran. If anyone gets knowledge from the Holy Book, there would be no space for any kind of doubt about it. The knowledge so gained will wholly be based on conviction and truth. He said knowledge removes doubts and creates conviction. It fosters a resolve among human beings, whereas doubt gives birth to hopelessness, weakens our relationship with our Lord and pollutes life. He said knowledge is a gateway to maturity, resolve, and determination that encourages human beings to explore the universe.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said when the first revelation came to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the message of the revelation was knowledge and book. He said if Muslims are interested in regaining their lost glory, they would have to revive their relationship with the book and knowledge.

In his message to the youth, Dr Qadri urged them to strengthen their bond with the books. He said the greater their connection with knowledge, the more successful they would be in their respective fields and life on the whole. He said the light of knowledge will have to be spread to remove the darkness of doubts and confusion. He said the youth must dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to the acquisition of knowledge, stating that it was the only door to the successes. He congratulated MYL on its 31st foundation day at the end of his speech.
